KIU, Main Campus - With just days left to graduate, Musinguzi Yonnah - the most recent MP representing the College of Economics and Management in the Guild Union - is inexpressibly happy to have gone through a university of not only international repute, but also the best learning environment.

Yonnah says KIU has not only given him academic knowledge but has also exposed him to the world through a variety of platforms. He says that the different engagements in seminars, workshops and community service while still a student at KIU have changed his view of society as a whole.

‘’I have had several engagements here and there especially through seminars, community service, workshops, conferences among others. These helped change my view of society as a whole,’’ Yonnah reflects.

He also commends KIU for transforming him into a total quality person. He says KIU gave him a favourable platform to exploit his talents and abilities in different spheres of life. Apart from being a student’s representative in the Guild Union, Yonnah had several other leadership responsibilities. He was speaker for the Toro Students Association and a Minister of Finance in the KIU Entrepreneurship Club. He also played Chess and Darts.

‘’This made me an outstanding figure at campus,’’ he recounts.

Yonah’s most memorable moment at KIU so far is during his triumphant election victory in April 2019 when he was elected MP College of Economics, beating nine equally competent contenders to the top spot.

‘’That was breathtaking, simply unforgettable. I felt flashy,’’ he recalls.

Who is Musinguzi Yonnah?

Musinguzi Yonnah is a 24-year-old Ugandan, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance & Accounting), and a former Member of Parliament representing the College of Economics and Administration.

He sat his Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) at Great Valley Junior School, Ntoroko from where he joined Nyakasura School in 2011 for O’level and spent four years until he attained his UCE certificate in 2014. He joined London College of St Lawrence in 2015 to pursue the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), an examination he sat in 2016. He joined KIU in August 2018.

While at KIU, Musinguzi Yonnah became a household name and an outstanding student. Apart from being a student leader, he is an intelligent student academically and a proficient Chess and Darts player.

His career objective is to excel as a great accountant, manage projects, work with communities and utilise available opportunities to enhance my skills to full capacity through continuous improvement and innovative thinking.
