KIU Teaching Hospital Strengthens Partnership With Kitagata General Hospital

KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU) hosted a high-level meeting on Monday, March 24th, 2025 with representatives from Hello Tractor, a leading agricultural technology company in Africa known for leveraging IoT (Internet of Things) and AI to modernize traditional farming practices.
The KIU Management was represented by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muhammed Ngoma, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovations, Consultancy and Extensions (RICE), Prof. Regina Idu-Ejemot Nwadiaro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Dr. Mundu Mustafa, Deputy University Secretary and Campus Administrator of the Main Campus, Ms. Christine Ainebyoona, along with representatives from the School of Natural and Applied Sciences (SONAS). Hello Tractor was represented by the Head of Partnerships, Ms. Quinta Ondiyi and the Country Head for Uganda, Mr. Frank Muhumuza.
The meeting in the Vice-Chancellor's boardroom centred around potential collaborations related to Hello Tractor's innovative tractor operator training programs. Hello Tractor’s platform employs GPS and IoT technologies to connect farmers with tractor services, optimize machine utilization, and provide performance data, thereby driving efficiency and productivity in the agricultural sector.
This partnership aims to enhance the impact of KIU's School of Agriculture by addressing Africa's food security challenges. Hello Tractor’s broader mission aligns with this goal, as the company is dedicated to improving farmer productivity and strengthening strategic value chains to position Africa as a global agricultural powerhouse.
KIU's School of Agricultural Sciences offers diverse programs, including Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship, Agricultural Extension and Rural Innovation, and Agricultural Economics, which are available at diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels.
With this collaboration, KIU reaffirms its commitment to empowering Africa's agriculture sector and fostering sustainable growth.
