KIU Eyes Glory in the Inter-University Debate on Tax Justice

KIU, Main Campus - Three members of the KIU Tax Justice Club are representing the University in today's Inter-University online debate on Tax Justice organized by Seatini and Uganda Revenue Authority. 

The debate that kicks off at 9:30 am is running under the theme, "Using taxes as a tool to address the challenges of the youth.

Jonathan Areeba, Joanitah Ngabirano and Titus Oguttu go into today's debate with hope that they will emerge winners and continue to wave the university's flag high like other teams have done in recent debate competitions.

"We shall be representing KIU in the debate on tax justice and we hope to get the best results," Titus Oguttu, the president of the KIU Tax Justice Club told this website on Monday.

The two-day debate will end on Thursday with the knockout rounds, semifinals and final. According to President Oguttu, team KIU'S main goal is to reach the final where they can have the chance to become champions.

"Our goal is to reach the final and go as far as winning the competition and we shall surely work towards that," he assured.

Unlike the preliminary sessions, the semifinals and final will be held physically on Thursday 30th, September 2021.
