KIU International Desk: Kenya's Raila Odinga Tests Positive of COVID-19

KIU, Main Campus - Kenya's Opposition Chief, Raila Odinga, has been placed under quarantine after testing positive for Coronavirus on Thursday evening. He was admitted to hospital on Tuesday in the capital, Nairobi, after developing fatigue, 

According to the statement by his doctor, "He's responding well to the treatment he is receiving and remains upbeat. We are continuing to monitor his progress."

The doctor added that Odinga "feels strong and is in good shape" but had agreed to undertake mandatory quarantine.

Currently, Kenya is experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 infections, according to the health minister, as it recorded 829 new cases yesterday Thursday 11th March - its highest number of daily cases this year.

This comes at the time when President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to address the nation regarding the country's COVID-19 status as various government-imposed measures against the virus lapse today Friday, March 12, 2021.
