KIU, Main Campus-KIU Law Society in conjunction with the school of law and others have organized the third edition of the annual legal run on Saturday 15th October 2022 and they have disclosed that this year's edition will be the best ever.

This year's Legal run is under the theme; "A Healthy Body, A Stronger Generation," and will be open to all students in and outside KIU as well as all friends of the KIU Law Society. One is required to buy a ticket at 10,000 UGX, gold and 5000 UGX ordinary.

According to Reagan David Kaddu, the president of KIU Law Society, the main purpose of the legal run is to aid the Society in soliciting money for the forthcoming interclass moot competition as well as promote physical exercise and wellness among Students at KIU.

"We intend to use the outcomes of Saturday's legal run to organize the interclass moot competition which will happen in a few weeks from now," Kaddu told Kiunews on Monday.

"Also through this run, we are trying to promote the spirit of physical fitness among our students. This could be a chance for someone to refresh themselves especially law students who really have a lot of books to read and we intend to encourage people to do regular exercise for better health," the president explained.

"Sometimes work without play makes one dull. We need to refresh our minds. Fitness is so good for our health and if you are not fit, you become prone to different ailments," he added.

Unlike the past two editions, the winner in Saturday's run will take home a prize worth 200000 shillings while the first runners-up will bag an equivalent of Uganda shillings 100,000.

The KIU Mentorship program headed by Anitah Malinga, Anguria, and Co-advocates Ameo Ogol Jennifer, patroness of the law society, Raven media company, and all law firms at KIU have committed their support to Saturday's run.

NBS sport and other companies are still in talks over taking part in the event and according to Kaddu, once everything goes as planned, NBS sport is likely to add to the list of partners for Saturday's run.
