KIU MASS COMMUNICATION STUDENTS TO HOST STV IN A FOOTBALL-FRIENDLY MATCH

KIU Main Campus-The journalists in making will host the staff of STV at the KIU football pitch on Saturday 05 November 2022 afternoon, as the two seek to create a long-lasting bond which according to KIU coordinator Arnold Mutatina will benefit both parties.

KIU has proved a hub for producing sensational journalists at least in recent years hence a chance for authorities and talent scouts at STV to gazette their hunting field while on the other hand, STV is one of the fastest growing televisions in Uganda which makes it a good platform for young journalists.

Bonding with fellows already in the field will help journalism students to easily find both internship and employment opportunities. According to Mutatina, chances like this should never be underlooked.

‘’I encourage all mass communication students to turn up not only for the match but also to meet some colleagues who are already living the dream. Who knows, this could be your chance to break through,’’ he said.

Mutatina added that the main aim of this friendly match is for us to create contacts with people in the industry while making fun.’’

The president of the KIU Mass communication Students association, Ibrahim Matovu applauded Mutatina’s effort in trying to sell the association to the outside world.

‘’I am so grateful for what Mutatina is doing and I want to commend him for keeping our association active. I am quite so busy but with people like Arnold, am sure a lot is still coming,’’ he noted.

‘’I encourage those who can play to come and represent on Saturday and also those who can do the cheering are needed and highly welcome, this is our thing, let's embrace it,” he added

Tomorrow’s match according to the organizing committee will be preceded by lots of entertainment by students and surprise artists among whom is Gravity Omutujju.
