KIU Main Campus – Kampala International University has offered and is implementing a 50% waiver on tuition for students offering Post-Graduate courses. This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo at a Press Conference which was held in the Iddi Basajjabalaba Memorial Library at KIU Main Campus in Kansanga.
The offer covers Ugandan and International students offering Post-Graduate Diplomas, Master’s, and Ph.D programs on the condition that they pay in advance their 50% contribution and they perform well academically. Students who fail to progress normally will lose the waiver.
Additionally, the discount covers the entire duration of the program as long as the program is completed within its stated period. Dr. Mpezamihigo also announced the new accredited PhDs at KIU including Ph.D in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Medicine, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Information Technology, Physics, Mathematics, and Public Health.
He also revealed that Kampala International University has established a new Centre of Excellence which manages innovations like Apps, robotic products, and various others, it also manages entrepreneurship initiatives like mentorship and nurturing those with business ideas as well as managing university research which includes publications and university journals.
KIU has continued to be a center of academic excellence and is currently ranked the second-best university in Uganda, fifth-best in east Africa, and is also ranked 58th in Africa according to the Webometric Ranking of universities.
