KIU, Main Campus - KIU Rangers have shattered records and expectations in the 2023 National Basketball League. In a jaw-dropping performance, they've become the first women's team this season to reach the Semifinals, matching the feat of the City Oilers in the Men's Category.
Their path to the final four was nothing short of spectacular, as they swept aside the Miracle Ravens with a resounding 2-0 win on aggregate in the best-of-three Quarterfinal series. The climax was a thrilling 75-50 victory on Wednesday evening, leaving fans in awe.
The Ravens came into Wednesday's game with all guns blazing, but the girls in green stood their ground, showcasing an unyielding spirit. Mary Moses Amaniyo emerged as the star of the show, dropping a jaw-dropping double-double of 20 points and 20 rebounds, earning herself the Player of the Game award.
Sharon Kirabo, who faced criticism in game one, bounced back with a vengeance in game two, posting 15 points and seven rebounds. And let's not forget the sharpshooter, Ines Kanyamuneza, who lit up the night with four three-pointers, ending the game with 14 points and nine rebounds.
