KIU, Main Campus-KIU Rangers will play KCCA leopards today evening, Friday 26th May 2023 in their second last game of the first round of this season's National Basketball League (NBL). This encounter will be played at Lugogo Indoor Arena at 7: 00 pm.
The Rangers have won their last four games in a row with some incredible margins and are looking to keep that momentum in Friday's face-off. The Rangers have been very impressive in the last one month and have outscored all the other teams in that period. This should worry the Leopards.
KIU Rangers acting head coach, Julius Lutwama is aware of what the opponents can do.
"KCCA is a respectable and competitive team all round and going into a game against them this Friday is a play-off test for us. This is a team that has ever won the league," he said in a pre-game press brief on Thursday.
The Rangers have scored over 200 points in their last games beating Kampala University Lady Eagles and Nkumba Lady Marines in the process.
They missed star player, Sharon Kirabo who had lost her beloved grandmother in the last game while point guard Fildauce Namuleme, Florence Nanyonga and Stella Nanyonga have been absent for the last games. Their return will be a big boost for this team.
The Rangers will bank on top scorer Diana Letaru who has won herself a Nickname," the balling Princess who is now fully fit after playing last weekend's game when she was just recovering from a fever.
She scored her career-high 36 points against Nkumba Lady Marines on Saturday and is set to start from where she stopped when she comes across the cunning leopards.
A win for the Rangers on Friday will make it five wins in a row and will surely see the team climb up on the NBL ladder.
Tonight's game will be the second last game for KIU Rangers in the first round of NBL with the last game on Sunday morning against Nabisunsa girls.
