KIU Main Campus- KIU Rangers will this evening play their first friendly match since the end of an excellent first round of the 2022 UBL season as they resume serious preparations for the second round. The Ladies in green host Kenya's KPA basketball club at MTN Arena, Lugogo at 6 pm EAT today.

Though he received KPA's request for a friendly match on short notice, KIU Rangers' head tactician, hopes today's game will help his team prepare for their forthcoming back-to-back ties against UCU Lady Canons and Miracle Ravens this weekend.

"It was a short notice friendly but I believe the lady rangers will get a good feel of playing an East African giant lady's team," KIU Rangers Coach Roger Sseruyingo said in a virtual interview.

" We will play them as we prepare our weekend back to back games vs UCU and Miracle Ravens," he added.

Mr.Sseruyingo believes playing against East Africa's heavyweights like KPA will help KIU Rangers match the requirements of the game at the zonal level as they aim to take their game to zone five.

"This should elevate our game and think bigger because we want to take our game to zone five," he said.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) basketball club are serial East African zonal champions and are the reigning Kenyan Basketball Premier League champions, a title they have won 15 times.
