For Allen Mukandayisenga, furthering her studies at Kampala International University (KIU) was more than just an academic endeavor. It was a fulfillment of dreams nurtured by a deep appreciation for diversity, quality education, and personal growth.

Mukandayisenga`s journey at KIU began with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, where she graduated during the 18th graduation ceremony as the overall best student with a CGPA of 4.67, earning her a master's scholarship.

Throughout her undergraduate studies, Mukandayisenga took on several influential roles within the university, including President of the KIU Technology Students Association (2016/2017), Minister of Health in the KIU Guild Government (2016/2017), and Member of Parliament representing the School of Mathematics and Computing in the Guild (2016/2017).

Describing this journey, she said, “being a student voice sure gave me immense exposure. I traveled to other universities, made lasting friendships both within and outside KIU, and learned valuable lessons that shaped my academic journey".

Applauding all the staff for their endless support, Mukandayisenga applauded the nature of how postgraduate research is handled at KIU.

“Thanks to the Directorate of Higher Degrees and Research (DHDR), students are encouraged to engage with their supervisors, improve their research skills, and grow both academically and personally." Mukandayisenga added.

Having built strong relationships with fellow students during her time at KIU, Mukandayisenga implores continuing students to build strong relationships, learn from challenges, and remain persistent.

Now more than ever, Mukandayisenga has no intention of stopping her academic journey and is highly motivated to pursue a PhD.

"Learning never stops, I will keep pushing until I get there," she says confidently.

Mukandayisenga expresses deep gratitude for the opportunities and support she has received.

"I thank God for the flexibility I had to manage all aspects of my life. I’m also deeply grateful to KIU for sponsoring my Master’s program and to everyone who contributed to my success," she concludes.
