KIU, Main Campus - KIU Titans unveiled their latest signing in experienced Faisal Aden on Monday, April 5, who signed a two-year deal.

Aden, born in Somalia before leaving for the United States at the age of seven has played in Belgium with Leuven Bears, Golden State Warriors’ affiliate team Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA Development League, Italy’s Virtus Roma, and Germany’s Rasta Vechta among others.

Earlier in his career, he made a name for himself during his college days at Washington State and Hillsborough Community College.

“Joining KIU was a pretty easy decision to make. I have played here and I love visiting Uganda and when I was given a chance to come and play here, I took it,” Aden said after being unveiled.

“There is not a lot of basketball going on so I’m just happy to be playing again and KIU seemed to be a good fit. Fans should expect a lot of baskets and a championship, anything less than that is a season loss in my eyes,” he added.

Aden is the latest addition for KIU Titans, a club that signed Stanley Mugerwa and Denis Balungu among others. He has the ability to create his own shots and adds another scoring option for Brian Wathum’s side.
