Kampala International University  (KIU)students have embraced the entrepreneurship and innovation program facilitated by StartHub Africa, a German-founded non-government organization that boosts entrepreneurship and innovation among university students. StarHub provides diverse activities including free training for students to start businesses in a scalable way at universities.

KIU, the leading private university in Uganda located in Kansanga, has this year given priority to entrepreneurship among other programmes offered.

Earlier this year, the Vice Chancellor of the mighty university, Dr. Mouhammad Mpezamihigo, announced that the university is working towards the expansion of her programmes, thereby making it a center of excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation.

KIU, in partnership with StartHub Africa, came up with a nine-weeks training to equip students with entrepreneurship skills, finance, and business-idea pitching skills to help them create sustainable business startups.

"We believe Africa's opportunities will be brought to life by entrepreneurial problem solvers," said StartHub Ambassador, Irafasha Bruno Yves.

In addition the organization provides funding for young entrepreneurs whose pitched ideas are sustainable and are of great impact to the country.

KIU is also set to host an innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition, from 25th to 27th March 2020, aimed at encouraging students to look towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
