KIU, Western Campus – A number of Kampala International University first-year students have been approved as beneficiaries of the 8th cohort of the Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) student loan scheme.
The 1st lot of the list of beneficiaries was released on 10th January 2022 and according to HESFB, the beneficiaries have to report immediately to KIU campuses in Kansanga and Ishaka, Bushenyi.
According to Antony Wasike (in the photo), one of the beneficiaries of the loan scheme, who is a first-year student of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (BMS) at KIU Western Campus, this is a lifetime opportunity.
“I am really grateful to HESFB for granting me this loan. I can now fully concentrate on my studies and achieve my dream of being a medical doctor,” Wasike said.
“I have always had the dream of serving my country in this capacity (medical doctor) and now that I have got this opportunity, there is nothing that can deter me, God willing,” he added.
The students’ loan scheme was started to aid students who are financially limited but have the potential to pursue their studies and serve the country in the future.
