KIU, Western Campus – KIU Teaching Hospital has promised to continue offering free cervical cancer screening, Hepatitis B testing, HIV testing and gynaecology consultation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
This follows a successful screening exercise as part of activities to celebrate the International Women’s Day, 2022.
The activities attracted 72 beneficiaries from all over the Greater Bushenyi sub-region – all of them women – and it was aimed at helping those who can’t afford these services and to remind the community about the best practices offered at the hospital as an act of Corporate Social Responsibility.
All the cases that were found to be in need of medical attention will be followed closely so that they can receive quality and meaningful treatment.
According to Isima Bagaga, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, the activities were a success because the turn-up was good.
“The turn-up was really good and we intend to continue doing the same as a way of giving back to our community members,” Bagaga said.
