KIU Main Campus- During the Easter period, both KIU basketball clubs, KIU Titans and the KIU Rangers, emerged victorious in their respective games in the National Basketball League.

KIU Titans rounded off the holy weekend with an 82-62 Victory over JKL Dolphins on Easter Monday after easing past Livingstone basketball club,86-56 on Good Friday.

The Titans looked fresher and hungrier than ever on Friday evening which marked their return to action after a three-week break.

There was enough proof that Julius Lutwama's flying Titans did their homework well while in recess as they displayed great team performances on Friday and Monday.

Four different players scored double figures in each of the games for the Titans, another testimony of the growing chemistry in the squad though Coach Julius Lutwama insists, "It is work in progress."

Edgar Munaba was the most outstanding KIU Titans player from the two games as he averaged 21 points and 10.5 rebounds.
The Titans return to action this weekend against KCCA Panthers.

Another Great Run For Rangers

KIU Rangers have now registered five consecutive wins since falling to KCCA leopards on Friday, 2nd March 2024.

Their 97-42 thumping over Kampala University Lady Eagles on Saturday is their biggest Victory so far this season.

The Rangers completed their Easter Period show with a 63-35 triumph over the stubborn Nabisunsa girls basketball club on Easter Monday, a game which was greatly inspired by team captain, Ines Kanyamuneza.

Kanyamuneza scored the game's highest 24 points, bringing her Easter Period average to 22.5 points.

KIU Rangers sit in fourth place on the NBL-WOMEN'S table with an 8-1 record. They will play JKL Lady Dolphins and UCU Lady Canons to end the first round this weekend.
