KIU Main Campus- KIU Titans displayed unmatchable quality as they beat JT Jaguars 78-51 in the National Basketball League game played at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024.
The Titans went into Wednesday's game seeking redemption after losing their previous game 61-67 to KCCA Panthers.
Julius Lutwama's troops began slowly, trailing 16-19 in the first quarter but quickly gained momentum to lead 31-25 at halftime and never looked back until the final whistle.
"It's been a great game from the Titans today especially when we needed it most. Tonight's game shows you that we took the lessons from the previous game seriously," Lutwama remarked post-game.
"We played as a unit, tried to defend together and play for each other. That's how we were able to get this win," he added.
KIU Titans Captain Collins Kasujja was named player of the game in recognition of his spirited performance. He scored 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
The other standout player for the Titans was Denis Omara. The sensational shooting guard recorded his first double in a KIU Titans shirt as he finished with 13 points, one rebound and one assist.
"This is my biggest day as a Titan, I am very happy for the win and my own performance," OMara said post game.
"This is just a piece of what I can do. I know I am better than that and I will prove it soon," he added.
Edgar Munaba registered the game's only double-double, 16 points and 13 rebounds while Brian Opio added 11 points to the tally.
Star player, Joel Lukoji Banza topped the assists chart with eight assists, six points, three rebounds and eight steals.
