KIU Titans beat Kampala Rockets to go Second

KIU, Main Campus-KIU Titans were impressive again as they beat Kampala Rockets 78-53 to bring their impressive run to five wins out of five since falling to City Oilers in the opening game of the 2023 NBL season.

The victory moved the Titans into the second place on the NBL Men's ladder with a 5-1 aggregate behind City Oilers who have played four games more with a 10-0 record.

Peter Obleng maintained his impressive scoring form with the game's highest, 20 points and two assists.

KIU Titans assistant captain Stanley Mugerwa claimed the Player of the Game award with a remarkable game-winning performance that included 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks despite only returning from injury.

Amisi Saidi Danny Alias Carmelo was ruled out before the end of the game after sustaining an injury but had managed 15 points and seven rebounds.

New signing Brian Opiyo is one of the Titans who put an exciting game on Sunday evening and the former power guard produced eight points, five rebounds and two assists on the night.

The Titans will play Dimark Power this Friday evening before an epic derby against Namuwongo Blazers on May 5th, 2023.
