KIU, Main Campus-KIU Titans stand on the brink of securing a spot in this year's National Basketball League finals, holding a 2-0 lead in the Semifinal play-off series against UCU Canons. The upcoming game at the YMCA court in Wandegeya, scheduled for 9:00 PM EAT, is anticipated to be fiercely contested.

In the previous match, the Titans displayed their prowess by overcoming a deficit to triumph over the Canons with a convincing score of 73-56.

As UCU strives for a victory to stay in the competition, the Titans see tonight's game as a chance to secure their spot in the finals and pursue the coveted championship.

Despite the personal grief faced by KIU Titans' talisman, Amisi Saidi Danny, alias Carmelo, who recently lost his mother, he remains resolute and is committed to playing in tonight's crucial encounter.

Coach Julius Lutwama commended Carmelo's exceptional resilience, acknowledging his ability to stay focused on the team's objectives amidst adversity.

In a pre-game interview, Denis Balungu expressed the team's unwavering readiness to conclude the Semifinal series successfully. Confident in their abilities.

"The boys are ready, we are all locked in, and we are coming to win. We will be in the finals," he declared.

A win tonight would mark a significant milestone for the Titans, propelling them to their second final in history.

Balungu is optimistic about surpassing the 2017 squad's performance, citing the team's enhanced skills, particularly in shooting.

The Titans aim to eclipse past setbacks and emerge victorious in pursuit of the championship title.
