KIU, Main Campus-KIU Titans overcame stubborn UPDF Tomahawks in a 63-54 win on Saturday to stretch their winning run to four in a row. Edgar Munaba registered yet another man of the game performance to take his tally to four in four consecutive games. Incredible!

The Titans had the game under control throughout though the Tomahawks looked poised for a comeback in the third quarter with the score at 45-42 in favor of the hosts who could not afford to give away their narrow lead. Titans Coach, Raymond Muhumuza was on the watch.

"We managed to control the game for the most part though we gave away too many offensive rebounds," he said.

"Overall, we limited their transition and also contained the best players," he added

This was the Titans fourth consecutive victory despite losing their opening two games to UCU and Betway Power respectively. For Coach Raymond, this is the only way they can prove their efforts in pursuit of great things.

"Winning four games in a row is great for us but it's only a reflection of how hard we've worked. We only need to continue working hard and definitely, such great results shall fall our way," Muhumuza said.

Man of the moment Edgar Munaba scored 13 points, 15 rebounds, and had one assist that saw him claim his fourth consecutive Man of the Match accolade. Muhammed Kassa and Captain Henry Okoth produced some extraordinary offensive and defensive displays that outmatched the UPDF Tomahawks, especially in the third and fourth quarters when they looked more dangerous and poised for a comeback.

Despite their promising run, there are areas in defense and offense that needs some more attention, according to Coach Raymond Muhumuza.

"We have a few areas offensively and defensively we must work on but most importantly improve on our rebounding," he said.
KIU Titans are now seventh on the National Basketball league table having played six games, two less than the other teams in the competition.

Their next game is on Saturday 30th April against Tropical Royals.
