KIU, Main Campus-In a gripping showdown on Sunday, October 25, 2023, the KIU Titans secured a hard-fought 65-62 victory over the City Oilers, shifting the National Basketball League finals to 3-2.
With a pivotal game looming on October 25, 2023, the Titans are on the verge of championship glory, requiring just two more wins against the resilient City Oilers.
Despite Sunday's triumph, the Titans faced an unwavering Oilers team, setting the stage for a decisive game six against all odds. The Oilers, geared up for an awards ceremony, were met with fierce opposition as the Titans refused to concede, silencing celebratory fans.
Forward Edgar Munaba emphasized the Titans' relentless spirit, stating, "We're down by one, not out, and we'll fight till game seven." Munaba attributed their Sunday victory to an incredible defensive effort.
Point guard Joel Lukoji Banza stole the spotlight with a stellar performance, notching 16 points and nine rebounds, earning him the role of the evening's poster boy.
