KIU, Main Campus-KIU Titans are looking to level up this year's National Basketball League finals series as they gear up for a crucial game six showdown against City Oilers on Wednesday evening.
Trailing 3-2, the Titans have no option but to win to keep their title hopes alive as defeat will mean the end of everything and a ninth trophy for City Oilers.
Speaking in a Pre-game interview on Tuesday, Guard Collins Kasujja, reflected on the team's resilience, stating, "It's really tough, but we're glad that we made the trophies go back and we have another chance."
The Titans Pushed the series to game six against all odds and this according to Kasujja must have infuriated City Oilers who are expected to attempt a fierce comeback.
"We know that they are going to come back really furious, but that has given us more morale, and we feel we can push for a game seven and win the championship."
Coach Julius Lutwama emphasised the importance of playing while knowing that the only option is to win. He expressed confidence in the team's ability to force a game seven, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus in this do-or-die encounter.
"It's a game of do or die, so we need to keep our heads up, something we've been doing in all our sessions."
"It's about players' efforts which are uncoachable. For us, we need to improve on small things, our offense, move the ball more, frustrate them, and we will be good to go," he added.
A victory for the Titans tonight would knot the series at 3-3, setting the stage for a decisive game seven on Friday to determine the champion.
It is important to note that KIU Titans are looking for their first-ever National Basketball League crown and the overall consensus is that this could be the moment to change history.
