KIU Titans Sign Kenyan Star Ariel Okall to Boost Their Defense

KIU, Main Campus - Despite losing 66-58 to JKL Dolphins on Sunday 2nd May 2021, the KIU Titans have greater hopes of returning to winning ways and perhaps challenging for the title now that they have confirmed the signing of lethal Kenyan International, Ariel Koranga Okall 206cm-100kg. 

The signing of Okall is expected to boost the Titans especially at the defensive end of the court which cost the team in the match they lost to JKL Dolphins on Sunday.

According to the doctors' report, an East African Basketball news blog, Okall who landed in Kansanga on Sunday morning joins The Titans on an undisclosed short-term deal. Considered one of the best Basketball players in Africa, Okall joins guards like Michael Bwanga and Faisal Aden who he met earlier in 2019 at the KPA during the Basketball African League qualifiers.

The 30-year-old power forward who recently left Bawshar of Oman has also played in Uganda before. He played for the Falcons in the National Basketball League between 2014 and 2016. He has also played for Kenya Ports Authority, Savio of Tanzania, Hawks in Seychelles, Zoufar and Ahli Sadab of Oman. He spent 2020 at US Setif which plays in the Algerian first division before returning to Oman from where he joins the Titans.

Okall has represented Kenya at the FIBA Zone V games where they won a prize medal in 2017. He also helped his team Kenya Ports Authority to reach the semifinals of the Kenyan Premier League in 2019.
