KIU Titans vs Ndejje Angels at KIU Courts, Kansanga.
The KIU Titans will be in upbeat mood ahead of their National Basketball League tie against the Ndejje Angels on Sunday, May 23rd at the KIU Courts in Kansanga, following the recent surge in their form.
The Titans won back-to-back games in consecutive days last weekend against the Namuwongo Blazers and UPDF Tomahawks to boost their title hopes.
The two wins catapulted the Titans into second position behind City Oilers and they will be fancied to see off eighth-placed Ndejje, who themselves are hopeful of consolidating their position in the playoff places.
Faisal Aden, who has turned out to be a revelation for the Titans, will be the main weapon in coach Brian Wathum’s arsenal and the turnaround in Ariel Okall’s form will be a welcome shot in the arm for the Kansanga-based giants.
Despite being a regular fixture in the playoffs in recent seasons, Titans’ ultimate target is to go one step further than the 2017 second-place finish this year, and they have to make wins against teams like Ndejje a routine if they are to make the next level.
Wathum credited the team’s defence for their recent upsurge in form and with the consistent displays from Michael Bwanga and Denis Balungu to complement Aden and Okall, the Titans should break no sweat in seiing off Ndejje.
Meanwhile, the KIU Rangers take a break this weekend before their mouthwatering clash with the UCU Lady canons next week.
