World Africa Day. Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organization of African Unity on 15 May 1963. Independence Day (Jordan). Jordan celebrates its independence from the United Kingdon in 1946. This followed the Jordanian Parliamentcâ¬â?cs ratification of the treaty of London. Liberation Day (Lebanon). This day commemorates the end of the South Lebanese conflict in 2000 when the Israeli army withdrew from territory in South Lebanon. The withdrawal was largely because of the group Hezbollah and growing opposition within Israel.

2. In 1963, the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was formed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with 32 signatory governments. It was disbanded in 2002 by its last chairperson, South African President Thabo Mbeki, and replaced by the African Union.

3. In 2011, Oprah Winfrey aired her last show, ending her 25-year run of the Oprah Winfrey Show. It is one of the highest-rated daytime talk shows in American Television History, and many of its themes have penetrated into the American pop-culture consciousness. It received 47 daytime Emmy Awards before Oprah stopped submitting it for consideration in 2000.
