We Must Not Underestimate the Threat of Bundibugyo Ebola Virus Disease

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â Students pursuing their studies from
Kampala International University Western Campus have been availed with soft
copy notes for one month on the Universitycâ¬âcs e-learning platform by their
respective Schools.
The resolution
was made in a Senior Management Meeting convened on Friday 20thMarch, to discuss the way forward following a Presidential directive closing
all institutions of learning due to the COVID-19 threat.
The resolution
has since been implemented by all schools as revealed by the Assistant Deputy
Vice-Chancellor for Academics and Research for KIU Western Campus, Dr Jonans
Tusiimire.
câ¬ÅAll Schools are
fully and actively engaging students through all our e-learning platforms to
make sure learning is not severely interrupted,c⬠Dr Tusiimire said.
Dr Tusiimire
also advised the students to adhere to all the Ministry of Health safety
guidelines to avoid falling victim to Coronavirus.

Ssebayigga, a second-year student of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at KIU
Western campus confirmed that they had received notes on the classcâ¬âc WhatsApp
group.
câ¬ÅYes, we
received the notes on our WhatsApp group and I am grateful to the University
for taking this measure because now we can continue reading, even though we are
quarantined at home,c⬠said Ssebayigga, who is at his parentscâ¬âc
home in Lyantonde district.
This development
follows a similar move by KIU Main campus to implement the e-learning system to
enable all students to access notes to facilitate their home reading.
