KIU, Western Campus – The KIU Pharmacy Students Association (KIUPSA) on March 26 organized a successful and glamorous Pharmacy Dinner at Meridian Hotel in Bushenyi.

The event where students and staff alike dazzled, started in earnest with a photo shoot on the red carpet and phone booth at the entrance of the Hotel.

Guests then made their way into the hotel, where the chairperson of the organizing committee, Paul Konsugi made his opening remarks followed by a speech by the KIUPSA president Michael Daniel Funda, who also opened the awards ceremony.

Speeches from the patron of the association, the Dean School of Pharmacy Dr. Sharon Igbinoba (who represented the DVC), Secretary Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) and the Vice-President PSU (also former Dean, School of Pharmacy) followed.

With the speeches out of the way, the partying started. The live band soon had students on their feet as well as performances from talented students and staff.

A sumptuous meal was soon served and guests were treated to mouthwatering dishes on the buffet menu, with many guests heaping their plates to the edges.

KIUPSA took advantage of the high turn up to hastily carry out a fundraising for the School’s botanical garden – one of KIUPSA’s main achievements and endeavours.

Dr. Jonans Tusiimire, the Vice-President PSU and former Dean, School of Pharmacy was celebrated by the association for his endless support and continuing loyalty to the School.

Notable mentions were made in appreciation of the university administration, school administration, the KIUPSA patron, staff, KIUPSA executives and sponsors of the event.

Guests then danced away the rest of the evening until their bodies could sway no more.
