KIU Main Campus-Joel Munyendoh, a sports administrator at KIU who also doubles as a beach soccer referee is in Antananarivo to officiate the match between Madagascar and Seychelles on Sunday 7th August 2022 in the Beach Soccer AfCON qualifiers.
He officiated his first continental game the first leg between Malawi and Tanzania in Lilongwe, two weeks ago. And because him and his compatriots did a good job, they are now in Antananarivoto for the second leg match between Madagascar and Seychelles.
Munyendoh is a huge inspiration to young people at KIU especially those enthused with sport. Taking his craft to the international stage has been his lifelong dream and has always made it clear to us and his associates.
He works hard and has been instrumental to the well-being of KIU'S sports fraternity and the fact that he has started living his dream, so many people will be inspired.
Because of his hard work, self-belief and his cool personality, Munyendoh was one of the very few Ugandan referees that earned a FIFA badge earlier this year.
The FIFA badge authorises one to officiate anywhere in the world with consultation and approval of the domestic football governing body like FUFA for Uganda.
The 2022 AFCON beach soccer will be held in Maputo Mozambique between 21st to 30th October.
Uganda is part of these qualifiers and the Sand Cranes will host Comoros at the FUFA technical center in Njeru Jinja on Saturday 6th August 2022.
