KIU, Main Campus- On February 23, 2024, the KIU School of Law will hold elections to select its upcoming leaders, as outlined in the newly unveiled elections roadmap.
The roadmap disclosed by Jonathan Areeba, the Outgoing President of KIU Law Society outlines all the activities with their respective dates.
It indicates that screening of candidates is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 2024 starting at 9:00 AM.
On Thursday, February 15th, the school shall hold a moot Court session and all Candidates are required to participate actively.
"The moot session will serve as a test for the candidate's ability to submit during court-related presentations," Areeba said.
"It is also a test for public speaking skills which are key to the success of any candidate," he added.
The presidential debate will be held on Wednesday,21st February 2024, two days before the school decides.
Vote counting will take place on the election day, Friday,23rd February 2024 after which winners shall be announced.
Like in the past, this year’s law society elections are already living to the hype with candidates already displaying their worth.
In the society's top most office, Pius Kiyemba and Allan Ntanzi Kiwalabye are facing off in a bid to succeed Jonathan Areeba.
