KIU, Western Campus – The Loan Scheme Beneficiaries Association (LOSBA) of KIU Western Campus yesterday voted for its new leaders in a hotly contested election exercise.
There was drama as one student was nabbed by university security with fake ballot papers which he was attempting to sneak into the election venue, with each side accusing the other of attempting to rig the election.
However, parity was restored after the student was apprehended and thrown out of the university.
At the end of the day, john Kyalikisa was declared the winner of the presidency with 91 votes against Aisha Favour Nambi’s 61 and Douglas Matovu’s 37.
In the Vice-President race, Felix Muhangi trou7nced Tonny Jarah by 129 votes to 54.
President-elect Kyalikisa was over the moon after his victory and pledged to be a ‘servant leader’
“I am very happy and appreciative to all my voters for the trust they have shown me and I promise to work hard for LOSBA and I will be a servant leader,” he said.
