KIU, Main Campus – President Yoweri Museveni is set to address the nation today at 8 pm concerning the COVID-19 situation in the country.
In a tweet sent on the official president's account, he said, “Fellow Countrymen, Countrywomen, Bazukulu, I will address the country TODAY at 8:00 pm on a number of issues but mostly the COVID-19 situation. I call upon you to tune in to the different radio & TV stations for this address.”
This comes as the country registered 1,584 new cases of the Coronavirus bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 67,215.
Thankfully, an additional 175,200 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country via the KLM airlines. The president is expected to talk about these and other matters at hand this evening.
Following the rise in cases of COVID--19, the KIU community is urged to continue practicing all SOPs as given by the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization.
