KIU, Main Campus-Martin Pinto Sewankambo a second-year student of Master of Education Administration and Management has advised junior students to prioritize academics in the new year in order to achieve the main goal that brought them to Kampala International University.

Apart from being a senior student, Sewankambo is also a celebrated Youth leader who has gone through the ranks of student leadership having served as president of the KIU Education Students Association (2020-2022) among other leadership positions.

This has seen him claim positions like the dean of students, vice chairperson of the disciplinary committee and a house patron at Makindye Secondary School where he currently teaches.

Sewankambo has dedicated 2024 to helping junior students and colleagues to achieve their academic goals.

"I'm looking forward to helping out My colleagues with Academic Challenges through different platforms and different discussion groups," he said.

Sewankambo has however warned students against complacency especially when it comes to academics.

"I advise all fellow students especially those at the undergraduate level to Prioritise Academics so that they get good grades since they all reflect on their transcripts. Let's not condone complacency this year," he warned.

He also advised them to take up leadership positions since this is the season when new leaders are chosen at KIU.

"If you have a chance, please show up for the different leadership positions in the University and get to boost your leadership skills. This will also improve your profile and make you known to many hence a great resource for social Capital," he advised.

Sewankambo said he will also continue to market KIU in every way possible so that many people can get to know how important it is to study from Uganda's leading private University.

"The other goal that I can never deviate from is making my University Known and loved by all People around me and always encouraging them to join us because we are the best," he concluded.
