Staying Well Together together: KIU Community Perseveres Through Easter Season

KIU, Western Campus – Members of Kampala International University, Western Campus community looked at the brighter side of life, amidst an unprecedented Easter period, where the world is trying to fight off the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor for KIU Western Campus, Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa reiterated the importance of astuteness within this trying period.

“We have to have a unified approach in the fight against this pandemic. Paramount is the sharing of the right information. All our students should visit the university website when they can, to get updated information on the ongoing crisis,” Prof Kyamanywa said.

The Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr Jonans Tusiimire encouraged students to get avenues of learning new things.

“This period is very challenging, but it might be an opportunity for us to utilize our time more to learn new things, and also be innovative,” Dr Tusiimire said.

The Dean of students, Maureen Asiimwe comforted the students and reminded them to stick to their studies so that they don’t lag behind the rest.

“We provided learning material to all students. So, they should stick to their learning schedule because when the pandemic ends, our lives will return to normal,” Asiimwe said.

The Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Western Campus, Collins Kakwezi assured students that the university website will continue to provide the latest information on the ongoing crisis.

“I encourage you to visit our website daily, because we are in touch with all the relevant authorities so that we can provide you with all the information you need,” Kakwezi said.
