KIU, Main Campus - The long awaited 2022 KIU trade exhibition is finally underway at the main campus with several companies and proprietors displaying their products before the KIU community. The event that kicked off yesterday morning is expected to run for two weeks.

According to the Trade Minister KIU Guild Union, Hon. Mubarak Karuhanga, this trade exhibition is meant to bring services and products closer to the students. He said that the new students are their main priority since most of them are not familiar with Kampala City.

"We decided to have this exhibition in order to bring services closer to students. We understand that many of our new students are not that familiar with the city. So to save them from having to roam everywhere in town in search of different things, we are bringing them to where they are easily accessible," Karuhanga explained.

He also said that over 50 companies and individual exhibitors are expected to attend the two week exhibition.

"We have over 50 companies coming here and we have tried to favour our own students who have some businesses. We expect to have a full house by Wednesday," he assured.

Several companies have already set up tents from where they will be operating while others are yet to settle in though their products and branding can be seen around the exhibition venue.
