KIU, Main Campus-Ninette Uwineza put up a spectacular show as KIU Rangers began the new month with a much needed yet deserved victory over Magic Stormers at YMCA Arena on Sunday. The game ended 48-54 in favor of the Rangers.

The Rangers needed nothing but a win against the Magic Stormers to maintain pressure on table leaders, UCU Lady Canons and also to ease the mood in the KIU camp following a disappointing result for the men's team, KIU Titans who were beaten by Tropical Royals in Saturday's early kick-off.

Uwineza was truly up to the task hitting two points,10 rebounds and six assists in addition to her eye catching displays that even bewitched the organizers to name her Tusker lite Player of the match.

Her exquisite performance could only be matched by teammate Ines Kanyamunza who only backed a scintillating performance with the game's highest 22 points, another remarkable assurance in the Rangers pursuit of victory on Sunday.

This victory means that the Rangers remain the top favourites to topple UCU Lady Canons off the summit of UBL as they look to qualify for the playoffs moreover it is the only team that has proved their match so far this season. And it is only against them that the Rangers have lost.

KIU Titans will look to return to winning when they face the 12th placed Victoria University Sharing basketball club on the evening of Wednesday, May 4th, 2022. Saturday's defeat to Tropical Royals ended a four-game Winning run that had clearly brought them to the table of big boys in pursuit of this season's crown.

The Titans must win Wednesday's tie to remain in contention for the Play-offs. This would help rediscover the boisterous mood, the Green half of NBL has enjoyed atleast in the last one and a half months.
