KIU Medical Students Get Medical Lapel Pins From the Gold Foundation

KIU, Western Campus – Medical students from KIU Western Campus have received medical lapel pins from the Gold Foundation, an organization from the USA which champions humanism in healthcare, as a result of a collaboration between the foundation and the Association of Medical Students of KIU (AMSKIU).

These are very rare and hard to get and are recognised around the globe as humanitarian tags that embody compassionate, collaborative, and scientifically excellent care, according to the Public Relations Officer of AMSKIU, Oscar Gumisiriza.

The Gold Foundation partners with universities that organize the White Coat Ceremony, an event that welcomes new medical students to the medical fraternity, which KIU organized last year and Gumisiriza says that is why they were beneficiaries of this gesture.

“After successfully organizing the White Coat Ceremony in 2022, we as AMSKIU wrote to the Gold Foundation requesting for the medical lapel pins and they have already arrived here and students have started picking them,” says. Gumisiriza.

He also revealed that it is only the Gold Foundation that manufactures these medical lapel pins in the entire globe, which is why KIU medical school receiving them is a very prestigious achievement.
