KIU, Western Campus – A team of medical students who call themselves The Missionary Doctors have partnered with a pastor, only referred to as Gordon to open up a health facility in Buduule village, Bugulumbya Parish, Bugulumbya sub-county in Kamuli district on July 16.

The team consists of 5 final year medical students; Micheal Jemba Senkolle, Moses Ndagano, Klause Niyonsenga, Hellen Akol and Geoffrey Matege.

According to one of the members of the KIU Missionary Doctors Michael Jemba, the role of the group is to extend a helping hand to people especially in remote areas who can’t afford medical services.

“We are a team of 5 medical students with different stories and backgrounds who are passionate and have a desire to give back to the community with a goal of placing affordable medical facilities and conduct medical camps in remote areas all over the country for the people who most need the services that we offer but are in no position to get them,” Jemba told this website.

The opening ceremony of the hospital was presided over by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister for East African Affairs Rebecca Kadaga, and it also involved a medical camp.

The medical camp reached out to over 800 patients with different medical conditions and those with complicated diseases will have to wait for the group to solicit for more funds so that they can be worked upon.

The team appeals to like-minded individuals with a zeal for charity who are able and willing to offer a hand to their work to reach out to them at jembasenkolle@gmail.com or call 0759946444.
