Philosophy
The philosophy of the school of law is to engage in ground-breaking research and to provide a pool of graduates capable of satisfying the needs of the Ugandan legal industry, and the world at large. As a part of the university, the school of law identifies with the broad mission, vision and goals of Kampala International University.
- The school understands the role law can play in the reform of society. It is therefore committed to a vision of law as an instrument of social change, and in instilling this belief in our students, to enable them to combat social inequities.
- The school is committed to providing students with high quality training to enable them to participate significantly in both legal research and practice, and acquire lasting skills for transforming the society for the benefit of all.
- The law school sees the need to expand the frontiers of knowledge and therefore, encourages staff and students to collaborate with other schools with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary research.
