KIU Law Week: Day One

The KIU Law Week kicked off today, February 10th, 2020. The students of Law involved themselves in Community Service which involved cleaning the Main Campus. They each divided themselves into smaller groups and spread out all over the campus grounds, cleaning the environment and restoring its beauty.

The students were then taken through the Law Week orientation, which hosted the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance and Administration, Dr. Janice Busingye, as the Guest of Honor.

The Head of the KIU Law Clinic, and Lecturer in the School of Law, Dr. Oke Samuel Olugbenga, advised the students on the Ethics, Practice, and Procedure of law. During the afternoon session, he discussed 'Pre and Post Legal Advice and Handling Clients' Money'. He passed on knowledge and skills on how to deal with clients practically.

The Dean of School of Law, Dr. Valentine Mbeli, presented on the history, purpose, objective, and impact of Law Week.

Furthermore, the Director Academic Affairs then took the students through understanding the purpose of Academic Transcript, how it is acquired, its importance, and protection of the same from fraud.

The day's sessions ably prepared the KIU Law students for Day Two, and the rest of the KIU Law Week.
