Renowned Pharmacists Engage KIU Students in an Insightful Three-Day Lecture

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â?? On 3rd March 2020, the KIU School of Pharmacy students concluded a three-day special lecture on the pharmacy at the Conference Hall of the KIU Teaching Hospital. The lecture was conducted by the renowned British pharmacists, Prof. Janet Krska and Prof. Paul Spivey.

The professors engaged students in interactive exercises that provided insight further insight on the world of pharmacy. Innocent Agaba, a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy said he learnt a lot from the three-day series, which he called an eye-opener.

câ¬Ĺ?We learnt a lot in the lectures, but for me the biggest lesson was the assertion from Prof. Krska that money is a side effect to the pharmacy profession,c⬝ he said.

For his part, Prof. Krska told the students that it was their responsibility as pharmacists to improve their knowledge because they are câ¬Ĺ?the future of pharmacy in Uganda.c⬝

The Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Dr. Jonans Tusiimire thanked the visiting pharmacists, who volunteered their time to teach, and the University administration for making the lecture possible.

The DVC Western Campus, Prof. Patrick Kyamanywa thanked the visitors for the recommendations they gave him on improving KIUcâ¬â?cs pharmacy programs and encouraged them to take up teaching and supervisory roles when the new postgraduate courses are rolled out at the school in the next academic year.
