KIU, Western Campus – As students head off for their holidays, the KIU Pharmacy Students Association (KIUPSA) is organizing a short getaway to Murchison Falls National Park in the North-Western region of Uganda.
The trip, which starts on June 12th and will last for two days, is open to all students who will be on holiday, staff and members of the community who might want to explore one of Uganda’s most magnificent parks.
According to Jesse Charles Gaboyi, the president of KIUPSA, the trip will enable students to have fun and learn about the good features of the park as they explore.
“The trip was organized to enable students explore the beauty of Uganda and also improve on their interactions with each other,” Gaboyi said.
“Everyone is eligible to join in on the trip because we also aim at bringing the community around campus closer to the students who will serve them after school,” he added.
He promised those who pay for the trip an “unforgettable experience” and an adventure they have not experienced before.
During the trip, participants will engage in wild life drives, trekking, swimming, zip lining, a boat cruise and a visit to view the spectacular Murchison Falls, among other activities.
Early bird tickets for singles go for 150,000 shillings and 160,000 shillings for those who miss out on early bird. Staff members will pay 230,000 shillings while couples will part with 300,000 shillings.
Gaboyi also revealed that they will use the Fort-portal city route and proceed to Masindi, then Buliisa district on day two before returning to Ishaka. They will sleep at the Students Center located 10 kilometers from the waterfalls.
