Mike Sekirabi is a Reference Librarian at Kampala International University (Since 2011). Prior to that, Sekirabi worked as a Library Assistant and Senior Library Assistant at Makerere University between 1990 and 2010.
He holds a Bachelors of Library & Information Science, a Diploma in Library and Information Studies, and a Certificate in Library and Information Studies, all from Makerere University. Apart from his professional qualification, he has attended several training workshops within and outside the University and acquired pertinent knowledge in Library Science and Information Literacy.
In 2017, Sekirabi served as Secretary to the IBML Management Committee. He has also been a Member of IBML training committee (2015), the Chairperson IBML Saving Group (2015), the Chairperson to the Sub Parish Executive Committee for married couples (2005- 2011), and a member on Makerere University Library Welfare Assoc (2005-2008). He is currently a co-opted member on IBML Automation Strategic Planning Committee.
He has over time obtained practical experience in manning the Information Desk (Receptionist/ Public Relations Officer), using Koha and other integrated information management systems, processing of library resources, and Evaluation and Monitoring of E-Resources Usage.
