Dr. Ismail Abiola, Adebayo is a lecturer in the Microbiology and Immunology Department in the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at Kampala International University. He has a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a B.Sc. in Microbiology with first class honours from University of Ilorin. During his Ph.D. study, he was awarded the prestigious Universiti Sains Malaysia fellowship award for 3 years. Also, he was a university scholar during his undergraduate study at University of Ilorin as he was academically on top of his class throughout the programme. He was awarded the best graduating student prize in the microbiology department in 2012.
He has published several articles in ISI and Scopus indexed journals. His Ph.D. research was on investigating the molecular mechanisms involved in the antiproliferative effect of Moringa oleifera seed phytochemicals on breast cancer cell growth. His research interests cover several aspects of molecular and cellular biology with special focus on investigating underlying mechanisms of action and molecular pathways involved in the activities of anticancer and antimicrobial agents.
He loves playing scrabble and exploring nature.
