Kalyankolo Zaina is the Associate Dean at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and an Assistant Lecturer at Kampala International University (KIU). Prior to that, she was the Head of Department Electrical and Telecom Engineering at the same institution from 2017 to 2019.
Zaina holds a Masterscâ?¬â?c Degree in Engineering in Telecommunication Systems, and a Bachelorscâ?¬â?c Degree in Electrical And Electronics Engineering from Universit?© des sciences et de la Technologie Houari Boumedenne. She also holds a Certificate in French language from University dcâ?¬â?cAlger.
She has taught courses like Digital Signal Processing, Analogue Electronics, Energy Audit And Conservation Systems, Digital Electronics, Advanced Logic Circuits, Electronics, Microwaves, Telecommunication Theory, Circuit Theory, Power Electronics, Hybrid Systems, Optoelectronics, Electrical Machines, Power System Design and Analysis, and Advanced Digital Communication. Her areas of interest include Signal Processing, Renewable Energies, Microwaves, Radar Systems, Nano Technology, 5 G Networks, and IOT. She is also comfortable working with PROGRAMMING: AUTOCAD,CC+, MATLAB, VHDL (INTERGRATED CIRCUTS), ADS (ADVANCED DESIGN SYSTEMS, HTML , PSIM, ISIS & PORTEUS, CSS , Cisco CCNA and system, component Linux based operating systems , LAN/WAN design and support, fiber optics technologies , data networking implementation. wimax , yaka installations , wiring, and CCTV installations. Zaina has written and published articles in reputable journals like the Journal of Mathematics Physics, the International Journal of Engineering and Information systems, and the International Journal of Ambient Energy to mention but a few.
Zaina has amassed a range of technical and personal skills necessary across a range of demanding roles. She is self-motivated with very strong analytical skills and a focused approach. She is also a team player who is always willing to learn skills. Zaina is keenly takes on responsibilities and challenges at KIU which result into scientific experience, knowledge, valuable application and utilisation for advancement.
