Sudi Balimuttajjo is a Lecturer at Kampala International University (KIU). He teaches Mathematics and super vises students’ research in the Department of Physical Sciences. Prior to that, he worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant for Mathematics Education in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning- University of Nevada, Reno, from 2006 to 2010. From 2005 to 2006, he was a part time Lecturer of Mathematics at the Aptech Worldwide IT Training. He worked as a Lecturer of Mathematics at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology from 1994 to 2003, a Mathematics and Science teacher at Kaddugala Secondary School within the same period, and also as a Mathematics and Science teacher at Entebbe Secondary School from 1992 to 1994.
Sudi holds a PhD (Mathematics Education) from the University of Nevada, Reno (USA), a Master’s Degree (Mathematics) from Makerere University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Education).
He is a member in a number of professional bodies, associations and organizations like; The Uganda Mathematical Society, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the Graduate Student Association (GSA) Council (2006 – 2008) where he was representing graduate students of the College of Education by promoting their welfare and interests at the University of Nevada, Reno. He was also a Member of the Hospitality Committee (2007) (Local) for the 29th Annual Conference of the North America Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education at Lake Tahoe, NV in 2007, which brought together over 250 conference speakers and presenters to the three-day occasion. He was also the Graduate Student Editorial Assistant at the proceedings of the 29th Annual Meeting of the North American Chapter of the International Group of the Psychology of Mathematics Education in 2007.
Sudi was a 2009 Recipient of the Dana Davis Award of the College of Education at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), and a 2008 Recipient of the UNR Graduate Student Association Award of Outstanding International Student. He has authored and co-authored a number of articles in journals, and also presented papers at Conferences like The 3rd Strathmore University International Mathematics Conference, SIMC in 2015 Strathmore University in Nairobi-Kenya, the East African Regional Conference (EARCP) in 2013 held at the Silver Springs Hotel in Kampala, and the 2012 Uganda Mathematical Society Teachers’ Conference in Mathematics held at Makerere University.
