Derrick Ssekajugo

Lecturer /Deputy principal

Ssekajugo Derrick, PhD is a lecturer in the Department Economics and Applied Sciences and Deputy Principal, College of Economics and Management at the College of Economics and Management, Kampala International University. He is such a seasoned academician and this is one of the reasons he has held various posts at the university, including, Administrator at the College of Education, Open Distance and e-Learning, the Head of Department of the, Guidance and Counseling- College of Education, Coordinator for the Guidance and Counseling programme in the Institute of Open and Distance Learning (IODL), as well as being an Administrative Staff in the Institute of Continuing and Distance Studies (ICDS).

He holds a Master of Management Studies in Public Policy and Governance and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Governance both of which he attained from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), a PhD, Master of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Arts with Education, subjects: Economics and Geography all of which he got from Kampala International University.

Additionally, he has published in various international and local journals among which are; International Journal of Business and Management Tomorrow, African Journal of Business Management, International Journal of Social Science Tomorrow and International Journal of Research among others. Derrick has also supervised over 20 postgraduate students, putting him among the accomplished lecturers in the department.

The solid education background, coupled with the experience and expertise he has garnered over the years make him the right fit to guide and train the bright minds of the future generations here at Kampala International University where we keep exploring the heights!
