KIUPSA Executive Ends Term on a Positive Note

KIU, Western Campus – The KIU Pharmaceutical Students Association (KIUPSA) led by Joshua Fred Mangen has completed its term on a positive note, having conducted most of its activities of the year successfully, including the Pharmacy week, one of the mainstays on the KIUPSA Calendar.

The Week, which was organized under the theme, “Pharmacy Profession Thriving in the post-COVID Era,” and was held at the tail-end of last month, was the 13th Edition and it was aimed at connecting students to the outside world, build character through different exposures, giving back to communities as part of their Social Responsibility as well as learning a lot from the different activities outside the classrooms, according to the Chairperson ICT and Media Management KIUPSA, Allan Okwir.

“The society has always appreciated the work we do through community cleaning, zebra cross paintings and the run among others. This leaves a good image to the university as it is supposed to raise citizens who can impact communities,” Okwir said.

The students held activities that directly impacted on the society like blood donations, community cleaning, zebra cross painting, health awareness drives, which showed that the students are going to be responsible citizens today and in the future.

“Students engaged in competitive activities, they got awarded prizes, medals and Certificates and also interacted with various people and companies in the field, formed connections and through exhibitions, they learnt different products as well as words of wisdom which were passed from various speakers,” Okwir revealed.

The President of KIUPSA Joshua Fred Mangen (in the picture) expressed his satisfaction at the association ending the term successfully.

“We successfully held all our important engagements like taking part in the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU) Pharma, Medical and Healthcare International Exhibition at the Uganda Manufacturing Association (UMA) Exhibition Hall in Lugogo, Kampala, the Pharmacy Dinner, Mr. and Miss Pharmacy plus the Pharmacy Week, which was a big success,” he said.

“We wish the incoming Executive all the success in the world to also successfully hold all KIUPSA events and continue flying the KIUPSA flag high at KIU Western Campus,” he added.
