Ms Jackline Estomihi Kiwelu Mayende

Deputy University Librarian

Jackline Kiwelu Estomihi Mayende is the Deputy Dean of Students at Kampala International University (KIU). She is also the KIU Deputy University Librarian, and the General Secretary for the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL).

She is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science from the Atlantic Interntional University (AIU), and holds a Master of Information Science and Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Makerere University. She has attained certificates for Continuous Professional Development(CPD) from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, Monitor and Evaluation of Electronic Resources Usage from INASP, Information Literary in Curriculum Development from INASP, and Open Access Training from KIU to mention but a few.

Mayende has co-authored academic papers and presented; at the UP-CARNEGIE Conference organized by University of Pretoria held at Kievits Kroon County Estate and Conference Centre, and also at the Re-thinking Teacher Education: Improvement, Innovation and Change Conference organized by The Aga Khan University  and held at Hotel Africana in Kampala-Uganda on “Teacher education in the 21st century digitalization: Open access and digital wellness”. She has also submitted a report titled “Effectiveness of AIDS Information Dissemination in Tanzania: a Case Study of the National AIDS Control Programme” to the East African School of Library and Information Science at Makerere University.

She has contributed to the institution of KIU by initiating the Information Literacy Curriculum and the Open Access and Institutional Repository Policy, and managing KIU Institutional Repository Projects until it was successfully launched in February 2019.
