KIU Holds Orientation for August Intake Postgraduate Students

Dr. Lawal Abdul Qayoom Tunji is currently the Dean & Senior Lecturer, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Kampala International University (KIU) in-charge of the overall management of the School. He lectures and examines both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and conducts research in his area of expertise, whilst implementing curriculum development for new courses. He is also a Water Resources Engineer/Consultant at Development Engineering Associate Uganda.
Dr.Lawal holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering) from University of Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Malaysia. He also holds a Bachelor in Engineering Agricultural (Soil and Water Resources Engineering) from University of Maiduguri in Nigeria.
Dr. Tunjii has published a number of articles in journals including the International Journal of the Physical Science Academic Journals, and even presented papers at conferences like the International Conference on Water Resources (ICWR 2009) in Langkawi, Kedah-Malaysia, and the National Conference on Hydrology and Environment (HIDRAS 2010) in BatuPahat, Johor-Malaysia. He has received academic awards including a Postgraduate Merit Scholarship in 2009, for the UTHM, and a Postgraduate Merit Scholarship/GA from 2011 to 2014 for the UTP, both in Malaysia.
He considers himself to be quite diverse as he has taught Water Resources Engineering courses in three different countries in the past (8) years making him a professional in this field.
