Professor Muhammed Ngoma

Vice-Chancellor

Professor Dr. Muhammed Ngoma is a Professor of Business Administration and Management. Professor Ngoma is the Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University (KIU). He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC), a company mandated to provide security printing technology to all government MDAs, and a Board member of the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC).

He has previously been Head of the Department of Business Administration and Dean Faculty of Management at the Makerere University Business School. Professor Ngoma has also been Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at Makerere University Business School for 12 years, where he managed Graduate Research and Training. Before joining Kampala International University as Vice Chancellor, Professor Ngoma was the Director of the Energy Economics Modelling and Research Centre at Makerere University Business School. Professor Ngoma has twenty-six (26) years of experience in Teaching, Training, Research and consultancy in the areas of Communication, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Energy Economics and Governance in both the public and private sectors.

Professor Ngoma has held various leadership positions both in private and public sector, but mainly in University setting which has given him wide experience in handling management and leadership challenges in higher institutions of learning. He has supervised twenty-three (23) PhDs and hundreds of masters’ students to completion. Professor Ngoma is a member of the Phi-Beta-Delta Honor Society of Scholars and Researchers, an international society (headquarters in the United States of America) that brings together researchers and academics to share research experiences and good practices in managing higher institutions of learning. He is also a member of the International Association of Energy Economics (IAEE). Professor Ngoma has sat on several boards in both private and public sector, has won several grants, recognitions and awards, has co(authored) over seventy (70) publications in peer reviewed journals.
